• After hearing about my work from one of my clients, Murray and Karen Washburn asked me to help them create a site that highlights their new venture, a small bed and breakfast in their beautiful home in Etna, N.H.
• The web site features lots of their photography displayed on all of the pages and a gallery as well. It also has a booking calendar and map to their location.

Joanna Clapps Herman

• Joanna is a New York City-based author and teacher. She contacted me to do a website that highlighted her new book, The Anarchist Bastard, a memoir about growing up as a child of Italian American immigrants in Waterbury, Conn.
• The site features lots of photography from her family, which I presented in gallery form. The new book's chapter excerpt also includes photos that enlarge when the mouse is rolled over them.

Swallow

• Author Mary Cappello of Providence, R.I., was referred to me from another client — Mary's book Swallow: Foreign Bodies, Their Ingestion, Inspiration, and the Curious Doctor Who Extracted Them explores the life of Chevalier Jackson and his collection of swallowed items that are part of the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia.
• As a supplement to her main website, this site highlights the book, media appearances Mary has done and upcoming book signings she has scheduled.

• I have been working with Jill Grimes for some time now. She is an energetic family practitioner in Austin, Tex., who has written the book Seductive Delusions: How Everyday People Catch STDs.
• We have been building out the site I designed as Jill continues to do media appearances. Recent updates to the site include a feed from her blog to the website's home page, and video clips from news reports.

Green Spark Farm

• I met Mary Ellen and Austin Chadd when I photographed their local wedding a few years ago. The Chadds are now farming in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and they came to me in frustration after trying to set up a website on their own.
• Using another farm's website I did as a template, we customized it to make it their own, with pages and pages of photographs of their beautiful vegetables.

Christine Montross

• Christine Montross is someone I first met when she hired me to photograph her civil union in Vermont. Christine has written the well-received book Body of Work, about her thoughts and feelings toward a cadaver she worked with in medical school. She is now a psychiatrist based in Providence, R.I.
• Working with a copyrighted design Christine put together, I did the HTML and CSS coding to bring it to website browsers.

• Julia Edelman, who is a gynecologist and menopause clinician in Massachusetts, was referred to me by another client. Julia needed a site to promote her new book, Menopause Matters.
• I used one of my standard templates to do Julia's website, which leads to a quicker turnaround and keeps the costs down. The site includes a chapter excerpt, list of book signings, media apperances and links.

• I crossed paths with Kyle Jones and Jennifer Megyesi in 2003, when Nicola Smith and I profiled their Royalton, Vt., farm in the book Harvest After the book was published, I helped Kyle and Jennifer out with a basic website — Jennifer and I have also collaborated on two more books, The Joy of Keeping Chickens and The Joy of Keeping a Root Cellar.

• Garlan Hoskin was referred to me from another website client. Garlan was beginning to sell some of the English cars he had imported and wanted a site to showcase them. I was more than happy to help because I also have an interest in All Things Automotive.
• Since designing the website, I've photographed a few cars for Garlan (he even let me drive one of the Rolls Royces!), but I primarily help with editing his text before posting, as well as adding photos of the new inventory for sale.

Sex Crimes

• As the New Hampshire and Vermont legislatures were considering more strict sex offender laws in 2006, the Valley News did a series about whether the facts in such cases are the same as what some perceive.
• I formatted the series into an online form, creating pages that displayed graphics and photos, and updated it with follow-up stories and editorials about the subject.

• Writer Tom Hill was interested in posting his newspaper columns online; he had a mock-up from a graphic artist that he needed translated into HTML.

Tim Madigan

• Author Tim Madigan approached me through a referral from his publisher to do a site to promote his book I'm Proud of You. The book by the El Paso, Tex., writer is about his friendship with the late children's television star Fred Rogers.
• The site also features Tim's second book, The Burning, about the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot. We created mirrored sites, with a different color background for each book.
